Sri Jagannath Rath Yatra-2018 (Newai, Rajasthan)

It was the very first time when the transcendental chariot of Lord Jagannath appeared in the land of Newai (a township 60 kms from Jaipur, Rajasthan).

The deities of the Lord of the Universe, Lord Jagannath, His elder brother Lord Baladeva and His sister, Mother Shubhadra arrived in the special cars at the initial point where they were offered variety of prasadam (108 types). Devotees performed congregational sankirtan with thousands of people followed them. After a short festival lecture by His Grace Dayalu Nitai Prabhu and a drama by children from gurukula, the three Lords were placed in the exceptionally beautifully and elegantly decorated chariot and then the Chariot moved ahead after the devotees performed the arati.

There were a number of Kirtan Parties, People holding colorful flags, Some holding the placards of Lord Jagannath, the Hare Krishna Mahamantra and Srila Prabhupada and the women participating in the "Kalash" Procession.

We also had our Bullock Cart distributing prasadam to all the persons around.

To beat up the heat and the exhaustion, there were good enough stalls to provide water and other juice prasadams.

Thousands of people joined us, chanted and participated in the sankirtan.

The chariot journey or "Rath Yatra" after traversing through a 3-km route where again  arati was performed and full -meal prasadam was distributed to all those present there.

The chariot was welcomed every where the chariot passed and it was was memorable chariot festival for us, for those who watched and for those who enjoyed the delicious mahaprasadam!!! It was an overwhelming response from the crowd and much greater event than our expectations.

"Devotees do not suffer"

Devotee: But the devotees, they seem to be suffering too,from...

Prabhupada: Yes, you cannot expect, if you are suffering from some disease, you cannot expect to be cured immediately. But one who is taking the medicine, he is intelligent. His sufferings will be gone. But these rascals, they will not take medicine even. They will continue to suffer. This is the position. Devotees actually do not suffer, but you see that he is suffering. Because you are suffering. Devotees do not suffer.

Madhudvisa: What happens to them?

Prabhupada: They enjoy. They enjoy. Hare Krsna! How you are dancing always, Hare Krsna, unless you are enjoying?

Madhudvisa: Sometimes I get sick stomach too.

Prabhupada: That's all right, because you have got this body. And after giving up this body, completely, blissful life. Tyaktva dehampunar janma naiti [Bg. 4.9]. You are not going to get another body of suffering, that is your advantage. And these rascals, they are going to continue one body after another simply suffering. And for the devotees, although they do not suffer, it is just like, the fan is moving, you make the switch off. It is actually not moving, it is by the last force it is moving, but the switch is off. And it will stop, suffering. But you have no such chance, you will simply go on suffering, moving, moving, moving, bhutva bhutvapraliyate [Bg. 8.19]. You shall have to accept one body, suffer, and again give up this body. Another body suffer, because so long as you accept material body, this body or that body, you will have to suffer. Material body means suffering. So those who are not Krsna conscious, they will change bodies one after another, and continue to suffer threefold miseries. And devotees, actually they are not suffering, but even if you say they are suffering, so after giving up this body, they are no more accepting material body. They will remain in spiritual body.

Prayas 2018: An Effort for Spiritual Awakening (A Special Program for Engineering Students in Jaipur)

Bhaktivedanta Institute of Gita Gyan (BIG Gyan ), A unit of Hare Krishna Community in association with Club of Knowledge, SKIT recently organized a mega event, “Prayas’18-An Effort for Spiritual Awakening” in Gyan Mandir Auditorium, SKIT. 

Program began with a lecture cum spiritual discussion by Sri Dayalu Nitai Das (President, Hare Krishna Community) with hundreds of students and faculty members of SKIT. There were a number of good questions from the students and were excellently answered.

After the discussion, the Gita Gyan Quiz got started. The students enrolled for this quiz were more than 350 in number and final participants for the quiz were selected through a screening test. The final quiz had seven teams from different engineering colleges. After a series of rounds and nail-biting ties, first team from SKIT emerged as winner with JECRC and second team from SKIT emerged as Runner Up and Second Runner Up.

In the last segment of the event, there was a drama titled “Lage Raho Munna Bhai” performed by the students which depicted the quest of spiritual master or “Guru” by Munna Bhai and his sly & roguish assistant Circuit.

At the end of the drama the audience adieu was done with delicious Krishna Prasadam refreshments.

"I am the kicking God"

So how one can become God? Rascal. How one can become God. That is not possible. God knows everything. If one knows everything, then you can accept him as God. Otherwise, don't accept. As soon as somebody says, "I am God," kick him on his face. "Yes, you are God, I am God. I am the kicking God." (laughter) That should be the answer. "I am the shoe-beater God. Now you protect yourself if you are God." Don't accept this false God.

Kṛṣṇa, kṛṣṇas tu bhagavān svayam [SB 1.3.28]. Kṛṣṇas tu bhagavān svayam. That is the verdict all... Just like Vyāsadeva, the giver of the Vedic knowledge, he says, bhagavān uvāca: God says. So we have to follow that.

We don't want bad cows.

Devotee : Prabhupāda? Some of the people I've met... Like in the later volumes of Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam, some of the information is so much against what the living entities are experiencing and being educated in, that I've noticed that some people have turned away from Kṛṣṇa who already had some attraction when they hear these different topics, like the situation of the universe.

Prabhupāda: Hm? What is that?

Brahmānanda: That because in Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam the knowledge there contradicts the mundane scientific knowledge, people who had some faith in Kṛṣṇa become discouraged and turn away from Kṛṣṇa.

Prabhupāda: Let him go away. Don't care for him. Let all the fools go away. There is Bengali proverb, "Instead of maintaining some bad cows, let the cowshed be vacant." We shall prefer the cowshed vacant, no cow, than keeping all bad cows who does not give any milk, create disturbance.

Devotee : In our temple...

Prabhupāda: We are giving chance, but we don't want bad cows. We haven't got to agree with their views. They must agree with our views, then they can live. Otherwise let them go away. This is position.

Gaur Poornima Celebrations 2018

We celebrated the auspicious appearance of Lord Caitanya with great joy and devotion. All the devotees were in high spirits to celebrate this special occasion.
Gauranga Mahaprabhu was offered more than 108 kinds of special festive dishes on his appearance day.There were many melodious sankirtans in the beginning and during various segments of the program.
Devotees enthusiastically participated in the Grand Ahishekam Sankirtan of the Lords while the Lords were bathed in the showers of special fluids,fruit juices and showered with petals of fragrant flowers.
