Village Sankirtan Trip 2017:Udaipur
Devotees from Hare Krishna Village recently went for a village sankirtan trip in nearby villages of Udaipur viz. Kejad and Nimuch last weekend.
Lord Caitanya Mahāprabhu wanted His followers to move all over the world to preach in every town and village. In the Caitanya-sampradāya those who strictly follow the principles of Lord Caitanya must travel all over the world to preach the message of Lord Caitanya, which is the same as preaching the words of Krishna—Bhagavad Gita—and Srimad Bhagavatam.
So on last weekend on the special request of some devotees from above mentioned villages, a team of 21 devotees comprising of Brahmacaris, Varnashrama college boys and students went on to distribute the mercy of Lord Caitanya Mahaprabhu and Srila Prabhupada.
Devotees set out for the trip on 24th night via train and reached our destination in day time next day. In the evening devotees held street sankirtan in Kejad and hundreds of people joined us .Devotees also went to a very ancient Lord Vishnu temple which was built in the 16th century. The villagers including the children enjoyed taking part in the sankirtan procession. Later in the evening, a lecture was organized, in which lots of people gathered to listen and gain knowledge from Srimad Bhagavatam and Bhagavad Gita As It Is.
Next day, devotees went to a neighboring village, Nimuch. Again there was a mass scale sankirtan in that village . Devotees were very happily dancing and chanting engaging all the villagers in this process. After sankirtan, a small talk was given on the importance of chanting the holy name in the age of kali-yuga and thereafter prasadam was distributed. Although the schedule was quite packed-up but devotees felt very enthusiastic.
In the afternoon devotees went to take bath in nearby lake where they got refreshed and were again ready for next program. After visiting some other local temples and spots, devotees again reached Kejad village for the evening lecture. Around 90 transcendental books of Srila Prabhupada were distributed in this trip.
After successful completion of the lecture devotees took prasadam and that was end of our two-day sankirtan trip. Devotees then went to Udaipur to catch their train for Jaipur memorizing the sankirtans snaps in their hearts and minds.

How can iron become gold?
Reporter: But the bad gurus...
Śrīla Prabhupāda: And what is a “bad” guru?
Reporter: A bad guru just wants some money or some fame.
Śrīla Prabhupāda: Well, if he is bad, how can he become a guru? [Laughter.] Read more

Where do you get money?
Prabhupāda: So if you simply push on our literature, then our movement is going, you must know. It is really going forward. And there will be no scarcity. You'll get everything. [break] Our neighbors they inquire, is it not? That, "You are living so happily, where do you get money?"

They don't care for the citizens
Prabhupāda: Land belongs to the king, and you take land for cultivation, and you pay 25% tax to the king. That's all. All taxes. If you don't produce, then don't pay tax.
Yogeśvara: Oh, it wasn't forced that you had to pay so much.
Prabhupāda: No.
Atreya Ṛṣi: You pay 25% of what you have produced.
Prabhupāda: What you have produced, that's all. Very simple thing. Everyone was engaged producing. There was no necessity. And here Click here to read more

Humbleness and the Aim of life
"Humbleness is of course good qualification, but the humbleness you will find in animal also, very humble. If you cut his throat, he will not tell anything. So humbleness also, that is another thing, but what should be the aim of life? What is the actual aim of life?
If we forget the aim of life and simply become humble like ass, is that very good qualification? The ass is very humble. You load upon it tons of loads, it will not protest. Very humble."

"That's what hooked all of us"
Brahmānanda: When I first came to Kṛṣṇa consciousness, I'd only been coming I think maybe two days to Kṛṣṇa consciousness, and then Mukunda had his wedding. Oh, that hooked me. Nice wedding and nice feasting. I was hooked.
Rāyarāma: That was the day after our initiations. They initiated the night before. We had two days feasting.
Devotee: I came into San Francisco looking for a spiritual teacher and I came to prasādam and I never left.
Gargamuni: I think that's what hooked all of us. (laughter)
Prabhupāda: Prasāde sarva-duhkhānāṁ hanir asyopajāyate. (pause) Thank you. Govinda dāsī has become very good housewife. Yes. (pause) Rāyarāma, come. Kṛṣṇa baṛo doyāmoy koribāre jihvā jay sva-prasād-anna dilo bhāi. No more. (end)

Initiation Ceremony 2017
On the most auspicious occasion
of Gaura-pūrṇimā, an initiation ceremony was conducted by Hare Krishna
Community at Hare Krishna Village, Rajasthan.
Hare Krishna Community has been
following the Ritvik system of initiation from the very beginning
accepting Śrīla Prabhupāda as the ONLY dīkṣā guru. Śrīla Prabhupāda, in
his teachings, especially in his 9th
July 1977 letter outlined the
Ritvik system of initiation to be carried out in order to accept new
disciples after his physical departure from this world.
We accept and follow this Ritvik
system of initiation as outlined in the 9th July, 1977 letter addressed
to all temple president's and GBC members.
This time we conducted both first
(Harināma) and second (Brāhmaṇa) initiation.
12 devotees took first initiation
and 8 devotees took second initiation.
His grace Dayālu Nitāi Prabhu,
Temple president gave a talk explaining that Śrīla Prabhupāda is our ONLY dīkṣā
guru and also about the ten offences.
Devotees took a vow to chant minimum 16
rounds of Hare Kṛṣṇa mahā-mantra
and follow four regulative
principles (no meat eating, no intoxication, no gambling and no illicit sex).
Then they were given spiritual names by Dayālu Nitāi Prabhu on behalf of His
Divine Grace A. C Bhaktivedānta Swāmi Prabhupāda.
Thereafter, fire sacrifice was
performed by second initiated brāhmaṇa devotees and everyone offered oblations
into the fire.
Those who got second initiation
received the sacred thread and the Gāyatrī mantra through their right ear from Śrīla
Prabhupāda's audio tape.
All
initiated devotees were happy to know that if they stick to their promise which
they have given to Śrīla Prabhupāda , of following the 4 regulative principles
and chanting a minimum of 16 offenseless rounds everyday then their eternal
spiritual master Śrīla Prabhupāda has promised that he will take them back to
Godhead in this very life time.
